Get to the River Festival

A 30-Day River Celebration - SEPTEMBER 2024

Stay tuned for details about this year’s festival!

Join us at the annual Get to the River Festival for 30 days of river-focused celebrations and conservation activities hosted by partners and communities along the Jordan River. The 2024 festival will have activities and events to bring together communities, businesses and local governments to celebrate, restore, and recreate on the Jordan River corridor. Thousands of people each year turn out to celebrate the many wonderful things the river has to offer, as well as volunteer to help clean up and restore the river to make it a destination for all to enjoy for generations to come.

About the Festival

The Get to the River Festival is a month long series of community events centered on the Jordan River and Jordan River Parkway. During 30 days in September, cities and counties along the river will host events near their section that help celebrate, protect and restore the Jordan River.

The Jordan River corridor runs through three counties and sixteen cities flowing from Utah Lake, through the Salt Lake Valley, and finally into the Great Salt Lake. The 50-mile river has tremendous value – environmentally, recreationally, economically, and culturally – for both the communities through which it flows and for the entire Wasatch Front.

Around 15,000 people utilize the Jordan River Parkway each month. This paved, non-motorized trails that follows the river and weaves in and out of urban areas, parks, and lush riverside areas is the perfect place for walking, running, cycling, skating, or simply escaping from the city. The river and trail provides a unique offering in our urban landscape and adds to our community’s beauty and wellness.
